Lars Bäumann is an industry veteran with more than 40 years’ experience in the automotive industry in Germany, Mexico and the Slovak Republic, mostly in leading roles for the Volkswagen Group in production, logistics and IT. This included the IT responsibility for production, logistics and plants worldwide. Since the end of 2021 Lars Bäumann is located in Shanghai, where he is ambassador for the International Dataspaces Association (IDSA) – a users association dedicated to gaining value from data – and the chapter chairperson of BVL, the German Logistics Association (Bundesvereinigung für Logistik). Recently, he has also become closely involved in activities for China for Catena-X, the shared data ecosystem initiative for the automotive industry.
