Dr. Birgit Boss is a driving force in many committee and standardization activities around Platform Industry 4.0, digital twins and Industrial IoT. She is a Board Member of the Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA) and chairs the Working Group on "Open Technology". Since open source is getting more and more important, she is also a member of the Project Management Committee of the Eclipse Digital Twin Top Level Project. Additionally, Dr Boss was the Product Owner and is currently the Working Group Lead in Catena-X, the first collaborative, open data ecosystem for the automotive industry - for the topic of semantics, digital twins and data modelling. Her areas of expertise include Digital Twins and Industry 4.0/Smart Manufacturing, Software Architecture, Software Product Line Development, Software Ecosystems, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Connected Industry, Continuous Refactoring, Process Development, Standardization, Open Source and AUTOSAR.
