Carolin Richter is responsible for testing, development and application of advanced robotics and automation in automotive manufacturing and logistics operations across the BMW Group, including AI-powered technology such as BMW’s trials with humanoid robots and other equipment. Prior to starting her current role in March 2024, she led shopfloor digitalisation and innovation, where she led teams responsible for proofs of concept and wider industrialisation across a range of digital tools and systems across manufacturing operations. Carolin Richter has been with BMW since 2010 across a range of industrial engineering, lean management, training and digitalisation roles, including assignments at the carmaker’s plants in Brazil and Mexico.
