Dr. Monica Schmickler is a senior advisor and lecturer specializing in ESG, sustainability, supply chain compliance, and health & safety governance. With extensive leadership experience in global procurement and supplier risk management, she helps organizations translate regulatory requirements into pragmatic and future-oriented business solutions.

At Mercedes-Benz, she spent more than 25 years in leadership roles across global supply chain and procurement, managing worldwide transportation logistics, quality management systems, delivery performance, and supplier evaluation. Her expertise extends beyond compliance to the design and stewardship of resilient supplier ecosystems, recognizing them as critical drivers of innovation, risk mitigation, and long-term value creation. 

Most recently, Monica served as Head of HR Central Functions for HR Operations at Mercedes-Benz, before transitioning into academia, where she now lectures on digital business models at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences.
